Special Notice from the Jefferson Institute of Columbia, MO

Fellow garden enthusiasts, I would like to invite you to a second lunchtime planning meeting to discuss a Columbia-wide 2008 initiative encouraging community members to plant fruits and vegetables for donation to families in need. Agenda items to include:

1. Jefferson Institute will present an "Inventory of Columbia" report, including details of what current groups related to health/ gardening/food are doing in Columbia and resources they have to offer (informational resources, volunteer hours, etc).
2. Long-term: We will brainstorm about long-term goals, including a possible steering committee to foster synergy among groups.
3. Short-term: The Jefferson Institute will present a sample plan for a community-wide initiative that could be executed for 2008. Come ready to brainstorm!

Date: Thursday February 7th Time: 12-1 p.m. Location: Boone County MU Extension Center, 1012 N Highway UU As the meeting is held over the lunch hour, please feel free to bring a brown bag lunch. We will provide hot cider. Please R.s.v.p. to my email (jsmith@jeffersoninstitute.org) so I have an idea of how many people can attend. For those who cannot attend, immediately following the meeting we will send out the materials presented along with meeting minutes so you can comment by either emailing or calling me at the number below. We realize busy schedules will not permit everyone to attend, but hope to still include your voice as we move forward!
