2010 Taste of the Market

Totally redesigned event including a full BBQ meal for each person, great bands like LaMovida, kids activities and a live Iron Chef Competition!
Watch Aaron Wells-Morgan of Les Bourgeois, Scott Hampton of Jina Yoo's Asian Bistro and
Craig Cyr of The Wine Cellar and Bistro square off live as they have 40 minutes to create culinary art from secret ingredients. The Iron Chef will be determined by celebrity judges like Mayor McDavid and others.
You can be a judge as well by winning our online contest starting July 23!

Hosted by the University Club at the Reynolds Alumni Center on the MU campus, this event features national, regional and local chefs, farmers and experts promoting the culinary and farm-to-table collaboration through demonstrations, presentations and hands-on workshops featuring master-class and cooking-at-home presentations with a full outdoors farmers market. Food Preservation Workshops hosted by MU Extension, and taught by Vera Massey.
These workshops will teach you how to preserve fresh market products at home. Learn to make and safely preserve jams, salsas, pickles, soups, and more. Offered in three parts:
June 16: Freezing & Drying
June 23: Water Bath Canning
June 30: Pressure Canning

After a successful test in 2009, the 2010 Columbia Farmers Market will again extend its season into December.
